Pentecostal Terror in Chile: Where Have all the Nazis Gone? part 3.
As a result of Abram Vereide's cult of power, famed Pentecostal healer William Branham converts a Nazi. Terror ensues.
Most of the material on Colonia Dignidad comes from John Collins work Weaponized Religion: From Latter Rain to Colonia Dignidad
The Pentecostal Religion, from its primitive days with Alexander Dowie to the NAR prophets and apostles has had its fair share of what followers of Dharmic religions call godmen, people who claim such a close relationship to the divine that they themselves adopt divine characteristics and authority. William Branham was one of those people. He even had “inner” cult which worshipped him as a manifestation of God.
His sect had a doctrine which justified this called “the Manifest Sons of God”, saying that in the last days God would manifest through the Holy Spirit in a band of elite believers. This doctrine is still held by many in the New Apostolic Reformation. The practical effect of this doctrine is that cults easily form around those claiming to be a Manifest Son. This is a tale of one of these persons, who also happened to be a deeply sadistic Nazi.
The story starts where we left off, with a community of unreformed Nazis who received an unearned dispensation of grace because of the work of Abram Vereide known as the founder of the “Family”. Where the connection started between Vereide’s group and William Branham’s group isn’t clear. However, throughout the 1950s, Family board member and Nazi ally Baron Frary Von Blomberg sponsored Branham revivals in Europe. He found Branham a bodyguard named Paul Schafer who Branham proceeded to convert.
Schafer was a former Nazi officer. He might have been one of those who benefited from Vereide’s efforts to rescue and reintegrate Nazis. He proceeded to gather round him a cult teaching Branham doctrines. This cult gathered together many former SS. Schafer started a front group orphanage, but was soon caught sexually assaulting some of the members of the orphanage and fled to Chile with his cult and took over Colonia Dignidad, an outpost, and proceeded to rule it as a Branhamite Pentecostal cult.
I don’t place this video here to endorse its theories about Hitler, which I view as unfounded disinformation. What I want to do is show you just how much money was poured into it to militarize it. They weren’t protecting Adolf Hitler like this clip implies. This sort of speculation is easily sliced off with Occam’s razor because we know enough about Colonia Dignidad to know why the fortifications were needed. They were protecting a military outpost which included interrogation facilities and arms manufacturing which came to be a joint project with stakeholders in the American and German governments and Chilean Dictator Augusto Pinochet.
But wait…. didn’t you say it was a cult? Why would a religious cult grow up with a military installation? This is a great mystery, but I believe it has some answers. The first is slave labour. Colonia Dignidad was a massive, I repeat massive illegal producer of arms. Cult members were used in this production, and I am sure many other tasks, as well as farming and provisioning the compound.
However there is a much darker possibility as well. The cult used torture as a matter of course. You must understand that the origins of the MK Ultra program and other similar ones (Artichoke, Bluebird) was the adoption of Nazi interrogation research by the CIA and the military to narrow the perceived (but imaginary) mind control gap between them and the Soviet Union. We also know they wished to employ a Nazi war criminal, Walter Schreiber for such research under Operation Paper Clip, but were shamed into sending him to Argentina when people caught on.
The question I am interested in is how many more Nazis did they hire continuing this work? Was Paul Schafer one of them? Judging from two hallmarks of MK Ultra research, the use of psychedelics and electric shock, this is a strong possibility.
It also appears that Colonia Dignidad was a place for the development of a special kind of psychological operations material used to control cult members: Religious psyop material. Did DINA ever provide this material to their US partners, who we know were working with members of Branham’s cult? Did this Colonia Dignidad indoctrination material have any impact, direct or indirect, on the militarization of Charismatic Christianity through the New Apostolic Reformation?
This leaves a question: did members of the Family, Vereide’s organization, ever go visit Colonia Dignidad? One board member of the Family makes a suggestive description of his visit to Chile. I will let you decide for yourself.
